About Phil

Phil, a native Atlantan, has lived in Smyrna since he was 14. With a background in architecture, Phil owned a small residential design business for 20 years. Now retired, he has found his niche in the pet sitting industry where he loves caring for others' fur babies! Phil has owned many dogs and cats throughout his life and has experience caring for dogs with special needs like epilepsy and diabetes. Phil enjoys loving on others' fur babies and making sure they are well cared for, having adventures and fun while their humans are away. Phil understands the importance of great customer service and will custom tailor services to meet the needs of all clients.

Contact Phil via email, text, or phone for a short initial interview. We will talk about your needs and determine when you need our services.

If you are a new Client, we will schedule a Meet and Greet where we can get to know each other and Phil can meet your fur babies! At the Meet and Greet meeting we will complete our New Client In-take Form and review our Policies and Procedures. All new clients must sign our Pet Care Service Agreement and complete and sign our Veterinary Release Form. You can download our forms for review prior to our Meet and Greet by clicking below.

We hired Phil to stay at our house and take care of our 2 dogs. He was wonderful! He came before our trip to meet the dogs and was very detailed with questions about the dogs. He gave us a.m. and p.m. updates with pictures every day. The dogs loved him. Our neighbors told us they saw him outside playing with them a lot. He brought in the mail and will water plants. This service is designed to relieve your stress and worry about your home while you are away. This service is customizable for each client based upon your needs and is booked as Drop-In visits.

This service is great for pets that may have separation anxiety or other needs where they cannot be left alone for long periods. Maybe you need to run errands, have a doctor's appointment, or other activities that will keep you away for 4 or 5 hours. Pet sitter will stay in your home from 4 to 6 hours without leaving the pet(s) alone. (Additional time can be booked as a drop-in visit or, if total time is more than 7 hours, booked as a full day care.) Exact arrival and departure times are determined with each client. Price includes up to 2 pets. An additional $5 per pet per half-day if more than two. Services included are described above under "Drop-In Visits"

This service is designed to be more like "doggie day care" except in the comfort of the pet's home. Pet sitter will stay in your home for up to 11 hours with one 1-hour break where they may leave the home. Exact arrival and departure times are determined with each client. Price includes up to 2 pets. An additional $5 per pet per full-day if more than two. Services included in the Full-day Care option are described above under "Drop-In Visits". If more than 3 consecutive "Full-day Care" days are booked, the 4th and all additional "Full-days" are discounted to $100/Full-day.

This service is great for pets that don't need overnight care but may need a late night potty break and/or an early breakfast. The service includes a 2 hour visit in the evening and one hour visit the following morning before 9AM. Exact time of visits are determined with each client. Price includes up to 2 pets. An additional $5 per pet per night if more than two.

The service will include the pet sitter staying in your home from bedtime until breakfast (10 hours per night) Additional time can be booked as a drop-in, half-day, or full-day care visit. Price includes up to 2 pets. An additional $5 per pet per visit if more than two. Exact arrival and departure times are determined with each client. This service includes late night treats/meals, potty breaks as needed, wash food and water bowls, fresh water, clean litter box, play time, medication administration, breakfast, pet sitter's bed linens removed from bed and placed in laundry basket if instructed.

This service will include the pet sitter staying in your home throughout each day and overnight. We guarantee your pet(s) will never be alone for more than 3 hours at a time. This service is booked as 24-hour periods. Arrival day fee depends on time of arrival.  Departure day fee depends on time of departure.  Price includes up to 2 pets. An additional $5 per pet per day if more than two. Exact arrival and departure times are determined with each client and each booking. Services included are described above under "Drop-In Visits". Additional "Live-In Care" services include vacuuming dog hair from carpet/furniture (vacuum provided by client), sheets and towels washed and folded and bed made up (if client desires) and basic cleaning and straightening of the areas of your home used by the pet sitter. We guarantee to return your home to you in the same or better condition as upon arrival. Customizable instructions are determined for each client.

This service includes a walk-thru of your home on all levels and a walk-around on the exterior of your home. We will flush toilets, run water in sinks/tubs/showers as instructed, check for obvious problems such as water leaks, break-ins, HVAC malfunctions, pool water level issues, fallen tree/limb damage, or storm/wind damage. With this service we will turn on/off lights, open/close blinds or curtains, water indoor plants (outdoor plants can be watered on 60-minute visits), retrieve mail and packages, retrieve trash/recycle bins from street, and crank up cars/vehicles as instructed. Customizable instructions are determined for each client at time of booking. NOTE: The 30-minute visit may be limited service depending on the size of your home.

House Sitting - Live-In $100/day* (No pets involved)

This service will include the house sitter staying in your home throughout each day and overnight. We guarantee your home will not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time. This service is booked as 24-hour periods.  Arrival day fee depends on time of arrival.  Departure day fee depends on time of departure.  Exact arrival and departure times are determined with each client and each booking. Services included are described above under "House Security Checks". Customizable instructions are determined for each client at time of booking.

We offer the peace of mind knowing that your pets will be well cared for in the comfort of their own home and surroundings.

All pricing is based upon client's home being located within the Service Area of Phil's PAWSome Pet Sitting.  Any home located further than 7 miles from the company's location near downtown Smyrna, GA, may incur an additional charge of $0.50/mile for each commute per visit over the 7 miles.  This additional mileage charge will be determined in advance at the time of booking the reservation and approved by the client before services are booked and rendered.

How do I get started?

New clients simply call, email, or complete our online Contact Form so we can have an initial conversation concerning your needs and timeframe. We will schedule a Meet and Greet Meeting at your convenience so we can get to know one another and Phil can meet your furbabies. At this meeting we will complete our forms and our contract will be signed. NOTE: The initial Meet and Greet Meeting is FREE. Additional meetings in your home are charged as a Drop-In visit.

Do I need to schedule a Meet and Greet?

Yes. If you are a new client a Meet and Greet Meeting will be scheduled at your convenience. Once you are an established client, making a reservation request is as easy as a phone call, text, or email.

How do I make a reservation?

New clients will book your first reservation at our Meet and Greet Meeting. Established clients simply make your reservation requests by a phone call, text, or email. Once the reservation is confirmed and booked, you will receive an email or text confirming the booking details and fee. You will also receive an invoice via email or text verifying the charges as discussed at the time of the reservation request.

How do you determine your fees?

Our fees are based upon the type of service provided and in accordance with our current Fee Schedule. See Our Services for a complete list of services and corresponding fees.

Do you require payment in advance?

Yes. Fees for services must be paid by the start of the services. You will receive an invoice by email or text as soon as the reservation is booked. A minimum 50% deposit is required upon receipt of the invoice and the full remaining balance is due any time before the services begin. Holiday bookings require a 100% deposit. See "Booking a Holiday Reservation." for further information.

How do I make a payment?

We accept payment by cash, check, Venmo, or Zelle.

Can I pay the fees at the start of services?

Yes. Once you have paid the required 50% deposit at the time of booking, the remaining balance can be paid by Venmo, Zelle, or by a check or cash left at your home on the day we start the services.

Do you have a registration fee or initial fee for new clients?

No. We do not charge for our initial consultations, the Meet and Greet Meeting or for setting you up as a new client.

Do you pet sit for all dogs and cats?

No. Phil's PAWSome Pet Sitting, LLC reserves the right to decline to pet sit for any pet that has a history of aggression or has a bite history. We reserve the right to decline any pet that we feel in our judgment will not be a good fit.

Do you require a deposit at time of booking?

Yes. When a reservation is booked, that day and time is locked in and we will not book additional reservations that could conflict with your booking. That booked time frame belongs to you. You and your pets are our highest priority for that day and time. This means we may decline to accept new reservation requests that come in after your time is booked. This is why we require a 50% deposit to hold your booked reservation for most times of the year. However, holiday bookings require a 100% deposit at time of booking confirmation and the Holiday Cancellation Policy is more stringent. See "Booking a holiday reservation." for more details.

Do you have pet sitter insurance?

Is Phil's PAWSome Pet Sitting a member of any pet sitting organizations?

Holidays and certain times throughout the year are the busiest times for pet sitters and house sitters. We suggest making reservation requests as early as possible for a holiday to increase the chance we are available to meet your request. We require a 100% deposit for any holiday booking and our Holiday Cancellation Policy is more stringent for holiday cancellations. Holiday bookings require a minimum of 2 weeks notice of cancellation from the start date of the booked service for any refunds due to the difficulty securing another booking for that holiday.   • Cancelling a booked holiday service within 2 weeks of the start date, client will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.

  • Cancelling a booked holiday service within 1 week of the start date, client will be charged a 75% cancellation fee.

  • Cancelling a booked holiday service within 72 hours of the start date or any time during the service period, client will be charged a 100% cancellation fee.

Once a service has been booked for a holiday and confirmed by us via an email or text, our Holiday Cancellation Policy is as follows:

  • Cancelling a booked service within 72 hours of the start date, client will be charged a 30% cancellation fee.

  • Cancelling a booked service within 48 hours or less of the start date, client will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.

When reservations are booked on our calendar, that booking belongs to you and we may decline to accept new reservation requests that could conflict with your booking. When a booking is cancelled within 72 hours or less of the start of the service, we likely have lost any opportunity to re-book that time for other clients. Therefore, we charge a cancellation fee to offset the potential lost fees. Once a service has been booked and confirmed by us via an email or text, our Normal Cancellation Policy is as follows:

What is your Cancellation Policy?

All clients must complete our Veterinary Release Form at our Meet and Greet Meeting indicating your pet's preferred Veterinarian's name, address and contact information. In the event of an emergency, we will make every reasonable attempt to contact you. If we cannot reach you, and time is of the essence, we will make every attempt to take your pet(s) to the veterinarian listed, however, if your veterinarian is not available, we will take your pet(s) to an appropriate Clinic/Animal Hospital for the necessary medical care.

What if there is a medical emergency with my pet(s) while I am away?

All clients must complete our Emergency Contact Form at our Meet and Greet Meeting naming two (2) emergency contacts that live reasonably near by. If there is an emergency with either your pet(s) or something related to your house, we will make every reasonable attempt to immediately contact you for instructions. If we are not able to reach you in a timely manner, we will contact your emergency contacts, first one then the second until we reach someone for instructions. If no one can be reached, we will take whatever mitigation actions are necessary to address the emergency.

What if there is an emergency with my pet(s) or house while I am away?

New clients will complete our Key Handling Form at our Meet and Greet Meeting where we will determine your preferred method for access. Our preference is for you to leave a key in a secured lockbox or hidden in a pre-determined secure place. If possible, we prefer that there are two ways to access your home in the unlikely event that either a key or lock malfunctions. If we are unable to access your home at time of service, we will do all we can to contact you or your emergency contact before we contact a Locksmith to gain access.

How do you access my home?

If time is of the essence regarding the emergency, we may take mitigating action to address the emergency before contacting you or your emergency contacts if , in our sole judgment, that is the best coarse of action.  When appropriate, we will always call 911 first.

We arrive at your home prepared with many supplies that may be helpful in emergency situations.  For a list of supplies, click the link below.

Yes. We offer all services for all holidays. We designate the following times as holidays.   New Years Eve, New Years Day, Winter Break* (February 17 - 25, 2024), Spring Break* (March 30, 2024 - April 7, 2024), Good Friday (March 29, 2024), Easter (March 31, 2024), Memorial Day weekend (May 25 - 27, 2024), Fourth of July week (June 29 - July 7, 2024), Labor Day weekend (August 31 - September 2 2024), Fall Break* (September 21 - 29, 2024), Thanksgiving week (November 23 - December 1, 2024), December 15 to December 30. Booked holiday reservations require a 2-week notice of cancellation from the start date of the booked service for any refunds. See "What is your Cancellation Policy?" for more information and cancellation fees.  See also "Booking a Holiday Reservation" for additional details.

Do you work holidays?

*Note: Winter Break, Spring Break, and Fall Break dates are based upon the current calendar for the Cobb County School District. Any other school district that has different dates for their Winter, Spring and Fall breaks will not be designated as a holiday date except for those dates that coincide with the dates for the Cobb County School District.

What are your business hours?

No. Our rates remain the same and will always be in accordance with our current Fee Schedule. See Our Services for current fees.

Do you charge more for holidays?

Typically the answer is no.  However, under certain circumstances, we may be able to accommodate that request.  If this is a service you desire, please give us a call so we can discuss your situation and our fee should we be able to accommodate your need.

Do you have decals on your vehicle?

We do display magnetic company decals on our vehicles as part of our marketing strategy, however, the decals are removed before any Meet and Greet Meeting and any pet sitting or house sitting assignment.  Your neighbors or others will not be able to identify our vehicles as offering pet sitting or house sitting services while we are parked at your residence or in your neighborhood, community or complex.   

Our regular business hours are Monday - Friday from 9am to 5pm. We are closed on weekends, however calls are monitored for emergencies when our office is closed. All other calls are returned during our regular business hours.

Do you have a referral program?

Yes.  We are always looking to grow our clientele and appreciate our existing clients who refer Phil's PAWSome Pet Sitting to their friends, family, and neighbors who live within our Service Area. We reward both the new client and the one who referred them to us. 

If you are one of our existing clients and you refer anyone who becomes a new client, meeting the "New Client Referral Criteria" below, we will "thank you" by offering the choice of one of the following savings.  Only one offer can be used for each qualifying new client referral:   

  •    50% off 1 Live-in day service, OR

  •   50% off 1 Full-day care service, OR

  •   $25 Amazon E-Gift Card

Be sure your referral lets us know how they heard about Phil's PAWSome Pet Sitting so we can reward you BOTH for helping us grow our business! There is no limit on the number of referrals and the number of referral saving offers you can earn!   

  1. New Client's home must be within our Service Area or meet our criteria for pet sitting/house sitting if located outside our Service Area.

  2. New Client must sign our Pet Care Service Agreement at the Meet and Greet Meeting or before the first booked service.

  3. New Client must book at least $250 of pet sitting/house sitting services within 90 days of signing our Pet Care Service Agreement.

Tell us about the First Seven Program.

Phil's PAWSome Pet Sitting desires to establish a clientele of faithful pet owners who will think of us first every time they need pet sitting or house-sitting services. We have established a First Seven Program for the first seven (7) new clients who sign our Pet Care Service Agreement between January 1, 2024 and the end of April, 2024. Once you are an established client and have spent a minimum of $350 for pet sitting or house-sitting services within 90 days of signing our Pet Care Service Agreement, you will automatically be enrolled in our First Seven Program where you will receive a 10% discount for all future pet sitting and house-sitting services without limit. (Extra charges for mileage outside our Service Area, or any reimbursable expenses are not included in the 10% discount.) All reservation bookings for pet sitting or house-sitting services from the date you are enrolled will automatically be discounted 10% as a "thank you!" for becoming one of our First Seven Program members! All referral discounts as defined in our Referral Program will be taken on the total fees after the First Seven Program discount so, you will be doubly rewarded for your faithfulness in helping us establish a solid base of loyal customers with your qualifying referrals.

Our Service Area

Phil's PAWSome Pet Sitting is based near downtown Smyrna, Georgia. Our Service Area is approximately a 7-mile radius from our home base. We serve Smyrna, Marietta, parts of Buckhead, and parts of Atlanta. Please contact us to determine if you are in our Service Area. In some cases, we can go beyond our Service Area with just a small increase in fees to cover the increased transportation costs. If we can't help you, we will find quality pet sitters who can!
